Hello to all our book reading friends and a Happy New Year from all of us at the bookshop.
Covid Update
The new regulations for the shop now require Vaccine Passes for the shop. On arrival, a staff member will check your vaccine pass for entry into the shop. Then if you would also kindly sign in to the Covid Tracer it will keep us all safe. Masks at all times, please. If you do not have a Vaccine Pass please feel free to telephone us or order online. We can always drop off the books or you can use Click and Collect. Thank you so much.
Next Chapter’s Second Year is off and running
Here we are back again and well into our second year at the shop. Boy what a whirlwind it has been. Christmas and New Year were busy and fun but it was also wonderful to have some days off and to read a book a day - well that was the plan. We all managed to read a number of the new titles and it makes such a difference telling customers what we personally think of the books.
Terrace Book Display and a Sunset Soiree
Over the summer, we've enjoyed sharing a display of Award-winning books on the terrace - Booker, Wainwright, Pulitzer, Costa, Women's Prize, the Australian book awards and the Ockhams are all represented. This month, instead of book club, we thought we would have a special get together to talk about what we've all been reading and invite you to a Sunset Soiree, this Wednesday, 26th January at 5.30pm. Sally and Jenny will be presenting new and interesting titles and discussing the background of the authors and stories. And, we look forward to hearing about what you've been reading too. Please join us to talk about your favourite summer reads and get some ideas for this year's reading pile. Grab a wine or a beer from Cinema Paradiso and bring it down to the Terrace for a 5.30 pm start. Vaccine Passport required.
