Hello everyone - a quick update on Next Chapter events and new initiatives in the second half of March.
On Thursday 28th, we are excited to host a special book event with Tim Gilbertson, for his book Boots on Mossies. These are second World War stories of the young Kiwis who got off their horses, tied up their sheep dogs and got into aeroplanes to seek adventure, fight for freedom and live or die in the attempt. Reviewed as "bloody brilliant" with "excellent humour, cracking dialogue and vivid physical descriptions". Start your Easter weekend by joining us for a drink and some amazing tales of true Kiwi heroism. Tickets $10 from the bookshop include a welcome drink. Phone or text 0210 904 6330 to reserve your spot.
We have an artist friend of the Next Chapter painting in the shop extension from Sunday, 24th - Tuesday, 26th March. Deborah Law is a watercolour botanical artist studying with the Friends of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Melbourne. She welcomes visitors and artists to drop by and discuss her New Zealand work in progress.
Also, a reminder that we are popping up at Ripe - the Wanaka Wine and Food Festival - this Saturday, 23rd March. If you’re attending, look out for us near the main stage. We are showcasing wine and cookery titles, many ordered especially for Ripe.
Happy Easter everyone! We have lots of great new titles in the shop if you need a read for the long weekend.
