Summer holidays are for family fun, relaxing and of course, reading. It’s the perfect time to start a new series! I've got two series to share with you that will appeal to young adult readers, and keep them entertained without the need for a screen!
First up is Katipo Joe: Blitzkrieg by Brian Falkner.
Katipo Joe is a gripping adventure story for readers aged 12 and up. It touches on survival, personal responsibilities, friendship and war.
We follow a young Joe, as he is evacuated to New Zealand from Berlin at the start of the WWII, and his journey back to London where he is recruited by M15 and sent on a deadly mission that puts him in the centre of Hitler’s ruthless regime. This is a fast and action-packed read, that will hook young readers right from the start. Perfect for fans of spy stories or war stories, and a great introduction into either of these genres.
Next up is A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson.
In this, the first in a trilogy of teen thrillers, we join Pip who, as part of her end-of-year project, researches the case of a local teen who was murdered five years earlier. Soon she is uncovering secrets that someone desperately wants to keep hidden.
This is a fun and fast read. The perfect whodunit for young teens, to keep them guessing from beginning to end.
